    Intense, fun, worthwhile

After completing Devmountain's Coding Basics course, I promptly enrolled in the 16-week full time React Web Development Boot Camp. I knew of people who had taken this specific course and obtained employment immediately post-graduation. I come from a long career in healthcare with no prior coding knowledge prior to enrolling at Devmountain and, although it was difficult to fully grasp the concepts, the instructors were extremely patient, available, and helpful to ensure I would complete e...

    Worth every penny

DevMountain has equipped me with the skills and resources necessary to succeed in my chosen field of tech. I'm extremely grateful for the staff especially my instructors from foundations up until the specs program.

    Challenging and fun

I had a lot of fun learning and exploring new topics about code and java that I had no idea existed. Foundations was a blast, the intro to coding curriculum was really well thought out with how each of the lectures and labs were laid out as well as the weekly tests. It challenged everything I knew about code previously while expanding on everything we learned through out the week. The capstone was the pinnacle of foundations with how much it challenged our knowledge to building something...

    Web Dev Specs

DevMountain provided me with an immersive and comprehensive web development bootcamp experience that significantly accelerated my journey into the tech industry. The curriculum was well-structured, covering a broad range of topics from front-end to back-end development, ensuring I gained a holistic understanding of web technologies. The hands-on projects were particularly valuable, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. These projects not only enhanced my cod...

    Great Bootcamp!

I can honestly say that I have learned and feel ready to work as a software developer.  I am grateful for the team at DevMountain.  I welcome the curriculum to learn the first half in JavaScript and focus on your specialization the second half.

    The Best Kind Of Education

My experience at DevMountain was extremely positive. As someone who always struggled to learn in standardized education, I was hesitant to try an accelerated course like the one offered at DevMountain. I am so glad I made the decision to push past my fears and give it my all. I wouldn't trade my time at DevMountain for anything.

    A New Life Path

After spending over 8 years in traditional college classes, I struggled to find a work-life that I truly enjoyed.  After being referred to Devmountain by a friend of mine, I was able to see that the career and lifestyle it supported aligned with my personal goals in a big way!  I'm so glad I found this cohort, and was blown away by the friends, and faculty I met.

It was an intense experience but probably one of the most rewarding and self fulfilling things I've ever done in my life.

It was an awesome experience that helped lay the foundation for my new future. The instructor, Marohn Howard fostered a safe place for learning and community during the course which was mirrored by the rest of the faculty both during and after graduation. I could tell that they really wanted me to succeed and I felt supported the entire way. My only regret is that I wish I had done this years ago...!

    A good decision

I really enjoyed attending DevMountain. Personally, I felt like the structure of things were much better in the first half, and that the online content during specs did not match super well with projects, but I am still glad that I did it. My main critique would be that for the portion that was online and without a dedicated instructor, if the videos followed course material that they were made for it would have been much better. It was hard for me to know what things were going to be ap...

    Dear Caleb,
We appreciate your thoughtful feedback on your overall bootcamp experience learning programming foundations with a Python specialization. The specialization portion can strike that uncertain balance between project work and picking/leveraging materials and mentor support, and your recommendation for enhancing alignment of our online learning resources with course materials is helpful. Our instructional staff is always striving to make the most of time in courses for our students, recognizing that everyone learns a little differently, whether in person or online. We may not have planned on such extensive remote learning when we started—our origins are in-person coding bootcamps (which we've recently been reintroducing!)—yet the combination of live/online instruction and asynchronous learning we had to develop in 2020 has helped us take our mission and values to more students. There's undoubtedly room to grow and keep evolving to best match a wider range of learning styles. I have shared your review with the team and thank you again. As always, we hope our graduates stay in touch with their Devmountain contacts. Keep us posted on progress or reach out to ask questions as you continue to learn and explore and as you apply for jobs.

Hi Lane—Thank you for taking a moment to reflect on your experience at Devmountain. It is indeed our hope and mission to give you the tools you need to pursue that career in software development. And our instructional staff really does work hard to create a meaningful and impactful learning environment that moves quickly but provides 1:1 time and support when needed. We hope that you will stay in touch with them as well as reach out to the Outcomes team with questions or for recommendations along your continued learning and professional journey.

    Outdated Material but Instructors Helped

Foundations material was great and gained valuable experience there.  In the iOS Specialty Section the material hadn't been updated in 4-6 years.  Anyone who knows how Apple and their tech advances knows that's horrible.  It was hard to follow along with videos when the functions they are using and the buttons they are clicking down exist anymore or were moved.
As I was graduating they were updating the material after several instructors quit over it and everyone I came in contact w...

Dear Jacob—Thank you for your helpful analysis of your overall experience at Devmountain's iOS App Development bootcamp. Your comments are important because it is a stated aim of our organization to teach skills that help our students pursue an entry-level job in tech. We do take pride in our education staff and celebrate the energy and enthusiasm of our career support Outcomes team, and are glad that you had a positive experience working with them. Speaking of our ed staff, though, it sounds as if you or peers in nearby cohorts brought forward some good ideas for changes. But just to be sure, we have shared around this candid assessment of the curriculum to make sure the team is aware of the conversation and to contribute to their ongoing work to provide the best bootcamp-style education. We hope you continue to stay in touch with your contacts at Devmountain, but please reach out if you'd like share additional thoughts or connect with someone on the team: marketing@devmounta.in

    Intimating but fun

I should've started this years ago. I started off super scared and intimidated and ended up completing the courses feeling comfortable and confident. It was definitely hard and stressful but the teachers were all so supportive and helpful and tried to make it fun. I enjoyed my time here very much and would happily recommend these courses to anyone I meet.

Justin—This is such an important review and reflection of your experience committing to and completing a coding bootcamp. We cannot thank you enough for sharing this and hope it inspires others to follow in your footsteps. There is indeed a lot that seems intimidating about these programs and many students feel overwhelmed, both in the first week and at various points during the bootcamp. There are so many things to learn and everyone learns differently. Yet with persistence and the support of our education staff—which you so kindly pointed out!—we find that students surprise themselves by what they are capable of achieving. We wish you all the best in the next steps of your coding journey and career goals and hope you'll stay in touch with us directly or on our social channels.
