Alicia Boddy

Experience

Alicia Boddy is the Founder of the VET TEC Working Group, a technical assistance group of training providers. She hosts monthly calls between VET TEC providers and the VA, creating opportunities for open communication, real time updates, and positive change. Alicia collaborates with industry leaders and legislators to develop and influence policies related to workforce development, technology hiring initiatives, and the importance of supporting veterans in civilian careers. Alicia has contributed to several legislative sessions, working closely with House Veterans Affairs and Senate Veterans Affairs to draft, edit, and pass new bills.

From 2017 to 2023, Alicia supported Code Platoon, a nonprofit coding bootcamp exclusively serving the military community, and played a pivotal role in helping the organization grow their budget from $100,000 to $2.1 million. She secured multiple six figure grant awards from organizations including Boeing and Cognizant. Her leadership resulted in exponential program growth, allowing Code Platoon to serve over 360 Veterans, Active Duty, and Military Spouses during her tenure. She worked collaboratively with the Board of Directors to facilitate corporate sponsorships, pro bono projects, program volunteers, and funding opportunities to further the mission of Code Platoon.

She also served as the School Certifying Official, the main point of contact for the VA and students. In this capacity, Alicia managed VA funding programs for Code Platoon including GI Bill, VET TEC, VRRAP, and Veteran Readiness & Employment. She frequently navigated complex regulatory environments and ensured Code Platoon remained in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Alicia is a graduate of Concordia University, Chicago, where she earned a M.A in Grant Writing and Nonprofit Management. She also earned a B.A. in English from The Ohio State University.

Alicia is the proud daughter of two Navy Veterans and step-daughter to the Deputy National Commodore, Atlantic West and Operations in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three children.
