eCornell is Cornell University’s executive education unit and offers online, part-time professional development certificate courses covering a variety of topics, including digital marketing, user experience design, data analytics, and cybersecurity. Courses are authored by Cornell faculty members, and certificates are electronically issued by the appropriate school or unit at Cornell.
The 8-week Digital Marketing program teaches students how ad providers interact to form networks and the differences between owned media and paid media. The course is appropriate for any professional looking to move into digital marketing or improve their ability to converse with marketing team members. By the end of the program, students will pull their digital marketing ideas together into a single, integrated plan based on organizational priorities and resources.
The 20-week User Experience Design program teaches user research, development of design concepts, prototyping, UX feedback, and storyboards. Students will master key UX and human-centered design concepts for understanding users, analyzing design, employing ethical user research practices, and iterating design concepts. At the end of the certificate program, students will have a high-fidelity prototype which can be incorporated into your design portfolio to demonstrate an advanced representation of your UX design skills.
The 9-week Data Analytics program teaches students how to understand and visualize data, implement scientific decision making, and use predictive analysis. This certificate is designed to provide functional literacy in critical business analytics. The courses are accessible to learners with fundamental statistical background, yet also structured to provide benefit to analysts who interface directly with raw data.
The 20-week Cybersecurity program covers topics like systems security, authentication of machines and humans, discretionary and mandatory access control, and enforcement mechanisms and strategies. This course is for IT professionals, software engineers, analysts, and cybersecurity professionals and students will be most successful in this program if they have familiarity with programming and computer operating systems.
