SheCodes
SheCodes is a technical skill training provider for women offering online, hands-on coding workshops and a self-paced Professional Developer Bootcamp. The workshops and bootcamp are flexible and designed to fit around a student’s schedule, moving away from traditional, rigid learning methods. The bootcamp curriculum covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, OOP, AI, and more. The workshops cover how to effectively communicate with developers, how to become a front end developer, advanced Python skills, and how to break into tech. Students learn through bite-size lessons followed by practical challenges to reinforce their learning. Each week, professional developers review homework assignments. At the end of each workshop, students will build real-life projects like websites and web applications to add to their professional portfolio and impress future employers.
All of SheCodes workshops are beginner-friendly and self-paced. Women of any age are welcome to enroll. There are various packages that students can purchase depending on their coding needs and existing skill level.
At SheCodes, students have access to an online community of 200,000 women technologists. Students who complete the Professional Developer Bootcamp will receive a Verified Diploma upon graduation.

I really enjoyed sharing something I love (my town, Mitla!) in my final project. I'm surprised I could make something so polished after three weeks! Well, it's self-paced so more like two weeks for me. It's comparable in content to the Odin Project but unlike that site SheCodes is very direct and practical and almost all the content is on the SheCodes site. SheCodes offers mostly video demonstrations with transcripts and code examples. The slack channel and LinkedIn networking are alive and well: this is very attractive if you are trying to build a network. I attended a free SheCodes class at a really low point in the pandemic for my mental health. After the free workshop, I became increasingly interested in the career possibilities of a switch to working in tech. The flexibility of SheCodes allows me to work toward a dedicated goal, without entirely consuming my life.
My favorite part of the workshops are the fact that they're skill-based: you have a quick video lesson, then you get to go have fun with a coding task. Love it!
It is an incredible experience, easy to learn with short video explanations and after that a challenge or homework that gives you the opportunity to immediately practice what you learned. They have a staff that answers your questions fairly quickly. We have a chat community with all the students and staff and help each other in anything that we need.
