Learn Hadoop at These 81 Hadoop Bootcamps

Before enrolling in the course I had interviewed for a few tech and research-oriented positions in my field and failed to move past the last stages of the process, so I decided that I needed to get better prepared to meet the demands of today's data-driven world.

This Bootcamp's curriculum covers a lot of ground and it succeeds to stay within industry-standard tools and practices that have given me the confidence to work with real-life data analytics and data engineering tasks. The Bootcamp doesn't require a computer science background but it helps to have university-grade foundations in computation, mathematics, and statistics as well as some experience with programming languages. On many occasions, because of the fast pace of the program, I wished I had more time to deepen my knowledge of certain topics and tools like web technologies, cloud computing, and Python libraries, but at least the curriculum revisits them later on and expands on them appropriately. The career services are good but it's hard to prioritize them early on with so much going on in the lessons and assignments.

The way I get the most out of the course is by being confident using everyday tools like Git, Google, the command line, and code editors, as they can get in the way of learning more complex topics further down the road. The rest is applying the course materials in whatever interests you the most. The first 4-6 weeks can be difficult as you adapt to the schedule but it gets easier once you make a habit of learning and practicing technical skills while progressively becoming a better data analyst. 

In November of 2021, I decided to take UPenn's FinTech programming bootcamp. As a derivatives trader, I wanted the ability to work with data in a way I couldn't without knowing how to program. Little did I realize that I would get SO much more from this course. The instructor has been one of the most enlightening, energetic, and brilliant individuals I have ever met -- and I learned so much more than just how to write in Python. He broke down concepts like statistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, creating databases -- into concepts I not only understand, but can program myself. Collaborating and delivering worthwhile projects on time, learning how to approach problems and delegate tasks to team members -- this course was much more than just a how-to in python. In 6 months my friends who are programmers are blown away but what I can do now. 

This is a bootcamp in every sense of the word! It ain't easy! But it was worth every penny. So grateful for the team and all the support. Top flight experience; definitely want to explore taking another one in the future.

I'm delighted to share my experience with this bootcamp! After completing my bachelor's degree, I was searching for a way to work with computers and data input. This bootcamp was the perfect fit! The team was incredibly supportive and motivating, and the instructors were always there to help during my weaker moments. 4 weeks of intensive courses on data product management : from discovery to large overview. 
I really enjoyed my time at Artefact school of data. 
The welcoming atmosphere, the training conditions, and the course material was impeccable. 
As for the trainers, they had a high level of expertise, and were always available to answer questions and provide support. 

The pedagogical framework is complete, covering theory, methods, and practical cases. I suggest they include less Maths & more product management feedbacks & case studies.

My time in The Coding Boot Camp has been nothing short of transformative. The curriculum is rigorous and comprehensive, covering a wide range of topics from front-end development to back-end services. The instructors are knowledgeable and supportive, always ready to provide guidance and insights. My favorite aspect of the program is the collaborative environment, where teamwork and peer support were emphasized. This not only enhanced my learning experience, but also prepared me for real-world scenarios.

My advice for people interested in The Coding Boot Camp is to stay persistent. Coding can be challenging, but persistence is key to overcoming obstacles and achieving success. Stay focused on your goals, and don't let setbacks discourage you.

The bootcamp is definitely tough and fast pasted, but I think it is a good learning environment. The class is designed so that you learn the basics and then practice using more advanced activities, so a lot of the time is spent actually trying things out on your own. I really enjoy how collaborative my classmates and I have become, and the support I have gotten from my TAs and Instructor. 

I am a career changer transitioning from 22 years in healthcare to cybersecurity. For the past 3 years cybersecurity has sparked my interest, so I decided to take the leap and enroll in UNC-Charlotte's cybersecurity bootcamp. It was the best decision and an experience that I will remember for a life-time.  I enjoyed the instructional staff and making new friends through the program. The instructional team and my peers were very supportive. I enjoyed working with other students to complete projects, and I was challenged to think in new ways.   The benefits of this program included office hours to ask questions before and after class; utilizing tutors; and 24/7 live support.  My advice to future students would be to set a study schedule, practice exercises, utilize tutors, and bring your own skills to the table. Everyone has skills, no matter your background, that will contribute to the cybersecurity experience. 

I enrolled in the AI Bootcamp at Rice University back in July 2024. My interest in AI wasn't just academic; it was also practical, as I sought to integrate AI solutions into my company's operations. After exploring various programs, Rice's offering stood out due to its comprehensive approach, blending foundational AI knowledge with deeper, more technical insights.

My journey through the Rice AI Bootcamp has been nothing short of exceptional. The curriculum is intense, designed to cover extensive material quickly, aligning with my expectations for a rigorous learning experience. The instructor deserves special mention; his dedication to both the subject matter and student engagement is palpable. Initially, his method seemed daunting, but it quickly became clear that his interactive style was meant to foster a deeper understanding and engagement, making the complex feel accessible.

For anyone contemplating this course, here's my advice: 

My time at this Bootcamp has been transformative, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to seriously advance their AI knowledge and skills.

Throughout the 24 weeks this bootcamp lasted, I had doubts on whether I would be able to complete it. I can say after that 24th week, I am glad I sticked to it.

I was interested in finding a new career path since I dropped out of college after my first year. I was studying computer science and it just was not fit for me. I started looking into cybersecurity more and was very interested in all the different paths you could follow. Through my employer, I looked at bootcamps they provided and found this cybersecurity bootcamp through the University of Minnesota. I read what the journey through the 24 week course looks like, and I decided to jump in for the long haul. My experience with this bootcamp was beyond phenomenal. From the instructor to the TA's, you could really tell they wanted every single student to succeed. I could tell it was just as hard for them as it was for us students, but the passion they poured into this course was amazing. One of my favorite aspects of this program was working with my peers to complete projects. It was awesome to see how easy it was to work with them and how friendly everyone was. If I had to give advice to future students, I would recommend to make connections in your class and work with each other, whether it's on the weekly assignments, or if it is on the projects you have to complete. Having those connections will improve your quality of life during this bootcamp, and can also be helpful after you finish. I will miss this bootcamp, it was a great course and taught me tons of information. 

When I first considered a career path, I wanted something that was not only exciting but also offered ample growth opportunities. After careful research, I discovered that cybersecurity perfectly fit these criteria. It's a field that is constantly evolving, with new challenges and threats arising every day. With this realization, I decided to embark on a journey to become a cybersecurity expert. When it came to choosing the right program to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge, the SMU Boot Camp stood out to me. The university's privilege and good reputation in delivering high-quality education were key factors that influenced my decision. I knew that by enrolling in the SMU Boot Camp, I would gain more than I could expect from any other program. My experience with the boot camp surpassed all my expectations. One of my favorite aspects of the program was the emphasis on practical skills and hands-on learning. Through SIEMS analysis, Linux commands, and cloud security and encryption, I acquired valuable expertise that is directly applicable in real-world scenarios. Moreover, the instructors and teaching assistants at SMU Boot Camp were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. They were always available to answer questions and provide guidance, ensuring that I had a clear understanding of each topic. I came into the boot camp knowing very little about development and came out knowing more than I thought I ever would it’s a great way to sharpen your mind and your knowledge I think that if you have any kind of desire to learn a field like this even if it’s just expanding your knowledge this is worth it in the end you learn so much in a short period of time 

I am a single mom of a young daughter and I also have a full time job. I decided to join the boot camp because I wanted a career that I could be proud of and that would allow more flexibility in my schedule. 
During the boot camp, I had to grow parts of my brain that had never been used before. I had to work most nights and weekends, and sometimes I was exhausted. 
But on the flip side, I got to play with creative solutions, make “art” in my designs, and make new friends. I also learned a ton (zero to developer).
 Also, my instructor was amazing- so patient and helpful, and he went far and above his required time to push us through to the end. 
Most importantly,  I got to show myself and my daughter that you can do anything you set your mind to, and that hard work pays off. She and I both had to sacrifice during these 6 months, but it was worth it to show her what dedication looks like.

"I decided to embark on this course because I like technology and I was drawn to the idea of becoming a software developer. I retired as a classical ballet dancer after 20 years and decided to completely change my field of study, which required a tremendous emotional storm. However, through methodical study and measured approach, I always stayed present and never got ahead of my own thoughts.

I enjoyed every single challenge, but the biggest one is working accurately in such a short time. A three-hour class may seem long, but I assure you, it's not enough time. You need to always work ahead.

My humble advice to other students: if you are going to do the bootcamp, I can tell you, it is worth the time and effort. There is so much infrastructure around that will help you succeed, but you have to be willing to put in the hours (and endure some mental strain). As a retired ballet dancer who was used to moving and exercising for over 8 hours a day, in terms of mental effort, this bootcamp was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life: and I would do it again if I had to. I give my full endorsement to the Washington University Full Stack Development Boot Camp. My only regret is not taking advantage of it sooner, and if you're reading this, hopefully you won't wait as long as I did.

I spent 15 years in my first career, a full-time Middle School English teacher, but despite the time and commitment I was putting into my job, I rarely felt like my compensation matched the effort I put in to my job, but teaching was such a specialized field and when I thought about leaving, I always assumed I would need to spend lots of time and money if I ever wanted to change careers, so I habitually talked myself out of it. Finally, my wife and I reached a point where we realized that we would need some expensive medical help to expand our family through IVF and no teaching jobs where we were located in St. Louis offered insurance coverage for those procedures...I needed a change of career to a field that would support me and my family through this need, and that's what finally pushed me into looking for a change. After interviewing and researching multiple options, I ultimately settled on the Full Stack Coding Bootcamp through Washington University- St. Louis, and boy am I glad I did.

The program appealed to me in a wide-variety of ways. The most convincing aspect of this boot camp was absolutely the program's unique appeal to old-school and new-school methods of thought alike. In a six-month intensive boot camp, I would be exposed to the most up-to-date and groundbreaking technology and languages (sometimes these can go out of date/style during a 4-6 year degree path) while also having the prestige that a well-regarded University like WashU provided in the eyes of more traditional hiring entities. In reviewing upwards of 15 programs, this was a unique combination that was truly only offered by one place.

When the program began, I was worried because so many of the members of my cohort were younger or had done coursework to prep them for this class while I was coming in totally fresh. I quickly learned that the program adapts to fit the unique needs and personalities of the members within it. I cannot say enough kind things about my teacher, Tom, and my TA, Matt, both of whom took the time after their own full-time day jobs in the tech field to give us experienced, competent, flexible, and confident guidance throughout our course. More importantly, as a teacher in my "past life", I was impressed with the instructional style the program offered. The teacher and TA would provide instruction and demonstration of a skill, and then, in a breakout room with one or more peers, I would work through a coding activity with my peers that required the skill just reviewed as a class. This format gave me the support needed on activities that I found particularly difficult as well as the freedom to learn hands-on and "figure it out" when going through the activities with my classmates. Even if my classmates and I couldn't figure something out, our teacher and TA were constantly floating from breakout room to breakout room to ensure support was provided to those who needed it when they needed it.

I also really loved the challenges and group projects. With each weekly challenge, I found myself building full stack applications that could do things I only dreamed about designing before this program. The inclusion of three major group projects similarly allowed me to learn what it would be like to work collaboratively on a development project and truly prepared me for my career. More than that, I got an opportunity to work closely with a lot of people from different backgrounds than my own, many of whom have become valuable resources and close confidants during the boot camp process.

Halfway through my boot camp journey, I began applying to jobs and sending out my resume thanks in part to encouragement from my teacher and TA, who told me it was never too early to start getting technical interview experience. I was lucky to get a couple of interviews and actually got offered a job as a Site Reliability Engineer at Mastercard while my boot camp was still going on! Suddenly, I was making twice what I made as a teacher, working a hybrid position that gave me more time at home, and getting the necessary insurance coverage I needed so my wife and I could grow our family. I was making my dreams come true, and this boot camp had so much to do with that.

I am fully satisfied with my experience, and rather than pivoting away from boot camp and focusing on my new job, I've made the decision to commit myself fully to doing both for the remainder of the boot camp because of how valuable I found the content of the course leading up to my eventual hiring. Advice that I would offer to those considering this program is to do whatever it takes to get yourself enrolled. Make the leap of faith, block out the time in your life, let your support system know you're going to need them pushing you and keeping you motivated for the next half year and SIGN UP. For those who have already taken the leap, my advice would be that you get out what you put into this program, so don't try to skate by and work through the program with as little interaction with your instructors and peers as possible. The people who thrived in my cohort were the ones who talked during breakout sessions, who asked questions when reviewing concepts, who showed up to office hours before and after class each night, and who took advantage of the numerous resources offered by the program's strong support structure. I'll say it again (and a million times if one more person out there hears me): this program helped my change my life and that of my family. I am eternally grateful and can't say enough good things about it.

I have three noteworthy points on this course:

I have a data science background and landed a job as a data engineer after completing this course. 

I only wish Pipeline Academy lasted longer. Call me when you create Pipeline Academy part 2!

This Bootcamp is Very challenging. 

From an Army Veterans perspective, this is truly a "Bootcamp" for the mind and intellect.

The concepts that are learned in AI Development could Be applied to other echelons of Life. The "Random Forest," "Dimensionality," "Inertia," "Optimization.." and many others. To Me, that was the most interesting aspect of the Bootcamp, how I can apply these concepts to Life itself.

I learned how to work "with" various AI Systems, and developed a thorough understanding of what AI truly is.

Specifically, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Prophet. We learned many methodologies, starting from basic Computer Science, to Python, to Machine Learning, to AI Ethics, to Neural Networks, to Transformers, to Classification, to Image Processing and Computer Vision, to Natural Language Processing. VERY Intense.

We applied Our knowledge to various Projects in a Supportive and Collaborative Environment. The projects that We came up with are VERY interesting. With subjects from Stock Market prediction to Celestial Object image classification. Very Cool.

It was a Great Experience.

The Staff are Very Supportive. The Instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, and Career Services are very engaging.


If You are interested in AI, Programming, Computer Science, or other Applied Sciences, I highly recommend this Program.

It is Very Complex, and Very Difficult, especially for a working Professional, or someone with limited coding experience. You have every means of succeeding though, and They Help You through every step of the process. 

Again, highly recommend if You are interested in Life Learning and Technology.

This program was very challenging to me. There were times that I thought I would not make it through and wanted to quit. I had to remind myself that this program is only introducing me to the various plethora of tools in data analytics. Some tools I have heard of and other I had not. There were some of the concepts and tools that I would never seek out and there are those I want to learn more about. To be successful in this program, you will need to be committed. You need to understand that there will be things you will not understand but you need to push through it. Use all available resources. I like attempting the challenges and when stuck, I will have something for my tutor to help me resolve. That is something I did not realize until later in the program. You will definitely need two monitors! Attend office hours before and after class. The instructor and TAs were very helpful when I had an issue. Set your time for working on the assignments and stick to it.  You have to remind yourself that it is only temporary and not a life sentence. Read through the requirements of the challenges before submitting. Take advantage of resubmitting your corrected assignments. Realize that the instructor is fallible and the topics maybe challenging them to teach. They have topics that they are more knowledgeable about than others and this program is the only teaching experience they have. This program will solidify soft skills such as: critical thinking, problem-solving, time-management, and team building. As challenging as it is, try your best to remain until the end. It's completing and not always about getting the 'A'.

Life gave me a second opportunity to enroll in a web development bootcamp after I passed up the experience during the pandemic in 2020. This time I would proudly be returning to my Alma Mater to completely adjust the sails of my academic and professional career. 
After these six months of rigorous coursework and learning to be comfortable with discomfort, I feel the most immense sense of gratification and accomplishment. This bootcamp not only offered me a high quality learning experience, but introduced me to wonderful individuals who will remain life long friends. I had absolutely ZERO coding experience and the team behind the program fueled me with confidence to complete. Since completing, I have been able to shift career paths into the world of tech and the exciting future ahead. I 100% recommend taking the dive into this opportunity.
