AUT Bootcamps by the Institute of Data

I recently completed a data science and AI bootcamp, and it was a truly rewarding experience, especially since I didn’t have much background in the field beyond some math and statistical concepts (and if you don't have these, you can still take the course). The program was intensive, covering a wide range of topics that provided a solid foundation in data science and machine learning, all while emphasizing practical applications and hands-on learning.

The curriculum struck a great balance between theory and practice. Throughout the bootcamp, I developed skills in Python, SQL, and essential machine learning libraries like pandas and scikit-learn. One of the most valuable aspects was the opportunity to work on real-world projects, including time series forecasting, classification tasks, and diabetes prediction. These projects allowed me to apply what I learned—from data preparation to model evaluation—and significantly deepened my understanding.

The instructors were knowledgeable, approachable, and made even the most complex concepts accessible, despite the program being entirely remote. They provided clear explanations of challenging topics like neural networks and hyperparameter tuning, and they were always available to help when I encountered difficulties. The collaborative environment with my peers also enriched the experience, creating a sense of community and shared growth.
The bootcamp’s career support has been invaluable. It continues for about a year after the program concludes, which is incredibly helpful. They offer resume reviews, LinkedIn profile setup, and insights into the job market. This guidance has helped me present my skills effectively to employers, making me feel well-prepared for the next steps in my career.

Overall, the bootcamp was demanding but ultimately very rewarding. It pushed me to expand my technical skills, apply them to real-world scenarios, and gain confidence in my abilities. While it required dedication, the knowledge and experience I gained made it more than worthwhile—plus, it was flexible enough to manage alongside work and other commitments.

I would highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone looking to break into the field of data science or enhance their existing skills. It offers a thorough, hands-on learning experience with excellent support from instructors and a strong focus on real-world applications.

There are not many opportunities to balance a full time job with gaining skills to forge a brand new career in a highly technical field. The part-time remote course was a good balance of structure, access to expert guidance, and convenience without cutting corners. 

Training staff and their experience in industry were an invaluable resource for the class to highlight what would be relevant in our careers and context of what we were learning. It also made the content much more interesting.

3 instructors in a small class gave me options if I didn't gel with an initial overview, and surveys meant I could provide feedback on the class and I could tell they took this onboard graciously and made adjustments. 

Learning in the course can be highly tailored to your previous experience and future goals - our cohort had current IT/data professionals, sales, healthcare, and even primary industry. All walked out with impressive marketable data skills that are in-demand. Assesments through practical projects really showcase this, and meant I felt really secure and overall inspired with the new skills I had gained. I was able to start working on outside web-scraping and consulting projects while still in the course.

I am usually skeptical of 'career coaching' but the support here is no nonsense, practical, and informed by genuine market conditions. Awesomely  kind people too.

An extremely rewarding 6 months of hard mahi in a very exciting discipline.

I recently completed the "Cybersecurity Cohort" provided by the Institute of Data, and I must say, it has been a transformative journey for me. As someone who is transitioning into cybersecurity, this bootcamp offered a perfect blend of in-depth knowledge and practical experience.

Course Content The curriculum was meticulously designed, starting from the foundational aspects of cybersecurity to more advanced topics like ethical hacking, network security, and incident response. Each module built upon the last, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the field.

Instructors The instructor was phenomenal. With years of industry experience, they brought real-world scenarios into the classroom, making complex topics accessible and engaging. Their dedication to our learning was evident in their availability for questions and their willingness to provide additional resources.

Hands-on Experience The hands-on experience was a standout feature of the course. From interactive labs to real-world projects, we had ample opportunity to apply what we learned. The capstone project, in particular, was a highlight, simulating a real-world cyber attack and response that was both challenging and rewarding.

Community and Networking One of the most valuable aspects of the bootcamp was the sense of community. With all the good moments and laughs, the people I've met through this course are all good contacts to have. We collaborated on projects, shared insights, and supported each other throughout the journey. The friendships and professional connections I made are something I will cherish and rely on as I move forward in my career.

Career Support The career support provided by the Institute of Data was outstanding. From resume reviews and interview preparation to networking opportunities with industry professionals, they offered comprehensive support that extended beyond the classroom. Even post-graduation, their continued support is a great resource.

Led by the incredible Chaitanya Rao, with support from assistant trainers Isabelle and Sumaya, this intensive course was made remarkably manageable through their exceptional training.The bootcamp excelled in providing a comprehensive education, focusing not only on the technical skills required for a successful career in data science but also on essential soft skills. This well-rounded approach ensured that we were prepared for the multifaceted demands of the industry.Even though I had some background in data, I found the course immensely beneficial. For beginners, the bootcamp is equally valuable, breaking down complex concepts into understandable segments.  I recently completed the Software Engineering course offered by IOD, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The course content was comprehensive, covering all the essential aspects of software engineering, and it was delivered in a very engaging manner.One of the highlights of the course was the exceptional quality of instruction. My tutor was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that we understood the material. The assistant tutors were equally fantastic, providing additional support and insights that were invaluable.Additionally, I was able to make some lasting connections with my fellow students. The collaborative environment fostered by the course was truly remarkable, and I feel confident that these connections will be beneficial throughout my career.While the course is a bit pricey, the investment is absolutely worth it. For residents, there is a flexible two-year payment plan available, which makes it more accessible. I recently completed the Data Science & AI course at the Institute of Data, and it was a really valuable experience. The instructors were amazing! They really knew their stuff and were always there to help when I had questions. What stood out was how they made even difficult topics easy to understand, and they always made sure everyone in the class was following along. Curriculum

I especially enjoyed the final capstone project, where I got to apply everything I had learned to solve a real-world problem. It gave me the chance to build something I’m proud of and add it to my portfolio. Job Assistance
The career support was fantastic. They helped me with my resume, gave tips for interviews, and provided a lot of resources to help me with my job search. The job assistance really boosted my confidence and made me feel ready to take on new opportunities.

I recently completed this 6 month course - it's a big investment, financially and in terms of time and effort, but I do think you can get a lot out of it. This course is aimed mainly at individuals completely new to data science (which I was), and I found the content somewhat challenging - it's a lot of information to digest in a short time, but I would say it's a good place to get started if you're wanting to move towards a career in data science. My trainers were all approachable and eager to help us during workshops and outside of class, and I think that the projects are a great way to get a portfolio started. 

I do think that the value you get from this course is proportional to your input and engagement - you could coast through and not learn much if you chose to, but if you're motivated enough, you can learn a lot and maybe make some really useful connections. 

I did a course of Software Engineering boitcamp at IOD + AUT collaboration. 

I would say the course materials were excellent. They were designed for simple progress in hands-on practice. I am already in Software Industry and my goal was to get familiar with new technologies and feel easy with web development in React and get comfortable with frontend as well as backend.

I would say I have achieved my goal 200%. I am in almost finishing my own website for selling my art products. Thanks to IOD + AUT for giving us this course and also providing industry expert instructors. Thanks a lot :)

I recently completed a part-time, six-month remote software engineering bootcamp, and it was a transformative experience. The curriculum was comprehensive, covering both front-end and back-end development. I delved into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front end, and React for building dynamic user interfaces. On the back end, I learned SQL for database management and MongoDB for handling NoSQL databases.
The structure of the course was well-balanced, allowing me to manage my time effectively while juggling other commitments. The remote format was convenient, providing flexibility without compromising the quality of education. The content was rich and up-to-date, ensuring that I was learning the most relevant technologies and best practices in the industry.
One of the highlights of the bootcamp was the lecturer. They were not only knowledgeable but also approachable and supportive. I have learned a lot of useful skills and am currently working on continuously improving the projects I completed during the course. You can also book a meeting to discuss job search strategies or enhance your online technical presence, though you will need to take the initiative.Overall, I enjoyed the course a lot and learned a great deal.

The IOD Bootcamp is a steep learning curve for learning Python in a short period of time. The skills gained will make you job ready in as little as 3 months. The course is taught by professionals, who will help you with getting through your assignments. A capstone project at the end of the course will showcase all the skills that you have learnt, which will be a great selling point when applying for data related jobs. Overall a very good course to gain the skills required, in a short period of time, with flexible study options.
