Yellow Tail Tech offers online AWS DevOps Engineer (44 weeks) and Linux System Administrator (24 weeks) bootcamps. Yellow Tail Tech is a hybrid e-learning program combining pre-recorded video instruction and online exercises with weekly live sessions tailored to fit the schedule of each cohort. Live sessions are typically held in the evenings to accommodate working professionals. Yellow Tail tech students should expect to spend 7 to 10 hours per week on bootcamp classes and activities.
AWS DevOps Engineer bootcamp students will learn to deploy a fault-tolerant and resilient web service architecture in AWS, monitor availability, simulate and test failure scenarios and recovery, and optimize cloud service infrastructure for cost and performance. Students will learn how to use Terraform to provision and configure AWS services in a global configuration, evaluate a cloud environment’s security vulnerabilities, and write code to automate tasks using AWS APIs and AWS Lambda.
Linux System Administrator bootcamp students will learn to install and configure OS and applications, deploy virtual machines, and perform user management tasks. Students will learn how to manage web servers, troubleshoot permission, performance and networking issues, and write bash scripts.
No prior technical experience is required to apply for either Yellow Tail Tech bootcamps. All prerequisites are built into the bootcamp curriculum designed for non-IT professionals. Yellow Tail Tech admits students based on a mutual fit selection process. Bootcamp acceptance is awarded following the required career strategy session, a 45 minute 1:1 Zoom call with a Yellow Tail Tech enrollment advisor.
Yellow Tail Tech bootcamp students may choose to enroll in an optional internship program. All bootcamp students will also receive individualized career coaching and mentoring.
Yellow Tail Tech offers a tuition reimbursement program. If bootcamp graduates don’t land a job within five months of internship completion, the full price of tuition will be reimbursed. In order to qualify for tuition reimbursement, bootcamp students must meet certain conditions including attending every live class session, completing all assignments, and scoring 70% or better on all tests. Yellow Tail Tech is a Maryland State WIOA Occupational Training provider and bootcamp students may qualify for state funding.

The instructors at Yellow Tail Tech are not just excellent, they are outstanding! I came to the US a month before the pandemic and I was in search of something that would help me earn so I can support my family back in my home country. I got hired as a salesperson and somehow the job became a routine and I was ready for something challenging. This friend of mine who’s a nurse had just recently enrolled at Yellow Tail Tech and encouraged me to check their programs too.The instructors at Yellow Tail Tech are not just excellent, they are outstanding! I enrolled in Yellow Tail Tech’s Linux for Jobs program. Me and my friend were classmates and it’s funny cause we see each other at work and we also see each other in class. The training is really good, unlike other schools where it’s self-paced where you can just come in and out of your time, it’s so easy to procrastinate and postpone the lessons. Yellow Tail Tech is definitely not a tech "Boot Camp". It is a school. A Real school. Students are in class, encouraged to ask the professor any questions, and build a great two way communication relationship just like in a university. My experience has been very pleasant. What a ride! The whole structure is perfect!
Yellow Tail Tech helped me have a more flexible schedule, without sacrificing my finances. I was working as a flight attendant and our schedule was chaotic. The perks of traveling anywhere is nice and rewarding but when you have a family already staying at home is something I really want. My husband is working in an office so we have to ask my mom to take care of our two kids, which worked out until she suffered a mild stroke and I decided to stop flying.

I learned about Yellow Tail Tech from my friend who’s husband is studying in one of their programs. I looked into their website and since I was kinda desperate to do something I booked a session with them and enrolled. It was a swift process that by the time I was studying the Linux for Jobs program and months had passed already I never really expected that here I am at cert prep.

I like the fact that we have review sessions every weekend too.

I’m very thankful to all my teachers because they’ve been great at everything - support, giving tips, the lessons were handled in a way that everyone can really understand and you can ask any question.

I was working as a bus driver for 10 years, and I wanted to change directions in my life. It’s tiring you know, driving everyday and to be honest it became boring. All I do is drive from one destination to the next. I’m sure this is not the thing for me but I’m scared of jumping into something I’m not familiar with and failing. I was so shocked that all the questions from the cert prep ( when we were still preparing for the red hat certification) were in the exam like 95% of everything we studied were there.
Yellow Tail Tech also helped me polish my LinkedIn profile and resume and we also did mock interviews which were so awesome. I couldn't make it without them! After 2 months of sending resumes and answering interview questions, I actually received 3 job offers all offering remote work. I really appreciated the message that Jubee was telling us and what the school is all about. It wasn't just about getting me a certification, but getting me a career, starting me off, and doing the right steps. That was exactly what I wanted out of my education as well as my career path.
My experience so far has been fantastic! My instructor is wonderful, he goes above and beyond to help each student succeed no matter where they are on their path toward learning or working toward their goals. Classmates are great too, we all learn together through our discussions in class. I learn a lot every time I’m in class.
