Before making my decision, I researched many private courses and programs at other universities. I can tell you that this is the most comprehensive and balanced program at a competitive fee. At others schools, you get a third of the material from this course for the same price. Another important factor is the excellent reputation of Columbia University as one of the most prestigious universities not only in the US but the world. This translates into the quality of its educational programs and teaching staff. Also, this certificate program allows one to attend classes in the evening so as not to interfere with one’s job. It’s very convenient for those working individuals who want to further develop their UX/UI skills or change their profession altogether.
Why did I choose the UX/UI Design program? I have a degree in web design, programming, and computer graphics. However, I did very little work in this area, more often as a freelancer, as this was not my main job. I received my diploma 10 years ago and a lot of what I learned then became outdated. Back then there wasn’t even a concept of UX/ UI. I decided to go back to doing UX/UI as I feel that this is an area I can excel in. Knowing what I needed to learn for my future job made it easier for me to choose this course. I advise anyone who wants to change their profession and doesn’t know where to start to sign up for Columbia Engineering UX/UI Boot Camp. I can assure you for sure that you will get a good starting base knowledge of UX/UI. During the course, you will create a personal portfolio which is not so easy to do on your own, especially if you are not familiar with web design and user research. I highly recommend Columbia Engineering UX/UI Boot Camp course! - 70Reviews7CoursesUniversity of Denver Boot Camps are 12-week, full-time, or 24-week, part-time web development, UX/UI, data analytics, financial technology, and cybersecurity... There were about 30 people in a class and 1 instructor and 2 TAs. The course was remote and taught over Zoom used with Slack. I was able to learn multiple concepts needed to become a Full Stack Developer. We would get assignments that we were put in a breakout room to complete and get experience after the instructor finished teaching the concept. The instructors and TAs would join the rooms and help us with any difficulties.
Some other perks I found helpful was the fact that I was assigned a tutor who I could work one on one with for an hour every week, I got experience collaborating with other people on projects, I received feedback on my career materials, and I got assigned a career coach I could meet with after graduation to assist with the job search.
Only complaint I have is that some of the other people in my class were lazy and not very intelligent and wouldn't help with projects and managed to be a burden. I don't mind helping people out when they run into problems when they pay attention to what I am saying and learn. I had some people who I helped out in the Boot Camp who were genuinely trying to improve and ended up becoming better after I helped them and it made them willing to help me out but I wasted hours trying to teach certain people simple concepts that they couldn't understand after they wouldn't put any effort into the class. This isn't entirely the fault of the school as they had a process of checking the people who applied. This is something that will happen anywhere though and it is good to know how to handle situations like this in life.
I am able to recommend the Boot Camp and say that it was helpful for me. I am currently seeking a job and can say that I have received good help with programming and job seeking. The Design Crew

There is an infinite amount of information on the web and no clear path on where to begin. This bootcamp proved to be invaluable to my growth as a web developer. The amount of support offered is incredible, from the instructors, TA's, tutors and 24/7 Ask BCS learning assistants. You never feel like you are going at it alone. Learning how to code is hard, sometimes very hard. However, the support that the bootcamp offers, in addition to learning along with your classmates is great!
I would recommend this bootcamp to anyone who needs structure and direction. It is rigorous so be prepared to spend 20-30+ hours per week outside of class learning. And understand that the learning doesn't stop when you graduate.
The majority of the course is Javascript so I would recommend using Udemy or Youtube to teach yourself the basics of Javascript before the class begins. I left the program feeling confident in my coding skills and having already accepted an offer with a starting salary nearly 60% higher than my previous job. I think NSS’s real competitive edge is 1) their wide network of employers who regularly hire from their programs and 2) the fact that they are a nonprofit. They really want you to succeed and get a great job, and they will do everything in their power to help you do it. Also, they want to do it as cheaply as possible, which is not the case with any other bootcamps I’ve seen. Great instructional teams, great career training, and great networking opportunities. This is a career launching program. Best decision of my life. CodeBoxx

My choice of Beetroot Academy can be considered a combination of external factors and a comparison of conditions with courses from other schools that I considerMy choice of Beetroot Academy can be considered a combination of external factors and a comparison of conditions with courses from other schools that I considered. And as it can be understood, this comparison was in favor of Beetroot Academy. But let's go through it all step by step.
At first, I chose another school, but I encountered a bad sales manager who initially promised to meet me regarding the cost of the course, as at that time I couldn't afford to pay for the course in one payment. And then he even suggested taking a loan to pay for the course. Since the characteristics of IT courses concern only the teacher, the program, and the final results, and sales managers are not related to this, I will skip the name of the school.
So when this option fell through, I started looking further, and I preferred Beetroot Academy precisely over Projector due to the following factors:- longer duration of the course (4.5 months compared to 3);
- broader program and more workload on the course (Beginner and Middle level topics, 2 two-hour lectures/practices on weekdays + 4-hour practices every Saturday as opposed to only Beginner level topics and 2 meetings of 2 hours);
- choice of your own topic for the graduation project (instead of the whole group creating different variants for a real client based on a specific task, which the client paid for, to have the graduates choose his task, as it happens at Projector);
- not the least reason was the work of the sales manager, who provided me with the level of service that was not in the first failed option and the usual communication with the sales manager from Projector, whose interest in getting me on the course was not felt.
Moments that I liked on the course:- support from the academy throughout the course;
- the teacher! Her level of knowledge, ability to explain, interest in the success of students, willingness to help with every question that arises;
- own LMS, where each lesson has homework, several video lessons, and a lot of quality textual information taken from various well-known and not very reliable sources;
- slight changes in the program or individual homework at the choice of the teacher — it was done to give us only the necessary knowledge, based on real cases in practice;
- a well-thought-out process of defending the graduation project and the ability to defend it in English;
- friendly community within the group and overall at the academy;
- the presence of educational events, workshops, and free career counseling for each student;
- cool merch for all students;
- the ability to split the payment for the course into a convenient number of parts.
Moments that I didn't like on the course:- somewhat outdated links to some information;
- in general, the order of video lectures sometimes confused, and sometimes there was a feeling that the videos were taken from previous versions of this course;
- the teacher's answers to questions about the course/graduation project, even within the allocated time, were long and postponed to another day, despite her online presence;
- minor errors in tests and in some places not very well-thought-out UI/UX in LMS.
I can say that the course completely met my expectations, even despite minor negative moments. As a result, I implemented the final project of this kind: a Telegram bot, to which I connected artificial intelligence (open-source LLM) and implemented the ability to communicate with it (ask questions and get answers) exclusively using voice messages.
I recommend Beetroot Academy to everyone who wants to get a quality base in Python.
